Experience the ultimate coastal escape with the Ghost Fleet Oyster Tour, an unforgettable journey into the heart of North Carolina's rich maritime history and sustainable oyster farming. You and up to five guests will be treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of a working oyster farm, set against the serene backdrop of our coastal waters. Learn everything there is to know about oysters from farming to wild populations to economic and cultural impacts of the industry. Tours take place on our comfortable pontoon boats (up to 6 people) and can be customized to your interests. You're welcome to as many raw oysters as you can eat while out on the tour. Pick up location is flexible, but we generally pick up at public docks in Hampstead and Sneads Ferry. We'd love to have you out on the farm! Your adventure begins with a guided boat tour through the local estuaries, where you'll learn about the fascinating process of oyster cultivation, from seed to harvest. Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty, teeming with wildlife and vibrant marine life. Upon reaching the Ghost Fleet oyster beds, you'll be treated to a hands-on experience of oyster harvesting, followed by a private, chef-prepared oyster tasting featuring the freshest, briny flavors straight from the water. This unique culinary experience will give you a new appreciation for our state's prized oysters. Pick up location is flexible, but we generally pick up at public docks in Hampstead and Sneads Ferry. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment we respectfully ask for a 72 hour notice. If tours are cancelled/rescheduled within 72 hours or we have to cancel your tour due to inclement weather your deposit will be refunded. Sunset tours are typically booked between 2 and 2.5 hours prior to sunset. Departure will be based around the time of sunset unless otherwise requested. Tips to the Captain are greatly appreciated!
