Created by NC Jeweler Beverly Iber, The Bruise Bracelet is a string of muted rainbow-colored beads patterned after the color of bruises on the skin as they heal. All gemstones in the bruise bracelet except the deep blue lapis lazuli are a form of quartz, the most abundant mineral on earth. Just as quartz is found all over the world, bruising is found on our bodies and our hearts. This bracelet signifies the transformation and healing process we all experience at some time in our lives. Beverly is a faith-based artist who draws strength and inspiration from the beauty of gemstones and the promises of god's word. Her love for Africa took her to Kenya in the 1970s where she managed a jewelry store in Nairobi for several years. Her store featured many of the unusual minerals and gemstones found in Africa, including was the brilliant green garnet Tsavorite named by Tiffany & Co. that her store partner, Campbell Bridges, had recently discovered. Once back in the States, she established A Stone’s Throw Jewelers which enjoyed a retail presence in Fearrington Village, North Carolina for well over 20 years.
